HP’s new ZBook workstations are bringing AI chips, Blackwell GPUs, and eye-watering prices

HP launched two new ZBook mobile workstations worldwide: the 14-inch ZBook 8 G2a with AMD Ryzen AI and the 16-inch ZBook X G2i with Intel Panther Lake and Nvidia RTX Pro Blackwell graphics.

U.S. pricing starts at about $2,796 for the ZBook 8 G2a and $3,609 for the ZBook X G2i, with top-end configurations climbing above $8,000 to $10,000.

The new models highlight how AI acceleration, high-end GPUs, and enterprise features are becoming standard in premium laptops.

They also underscore how much workstation prices are rising as vendors push for more power in portable form factors.
