YouTube is muting push notifications from channels you don't watch

YouTube is muting mobile push notifications from subscribed channels you haven’t engaged with in about a month.

The alerts will still appear in the YouTube app inbox, so they are not being fully removed.

Channels that upload infrequently are exempt from the new muting rule.

The change is meant to cut notification spam and keep users from turning off YouTube alerts altogether.
