China’s 49-ton hydrogen truck achieves low fuel use with new fuel cell stack

Dongfeng Motor said its 400kW hydrogen fuel cell stack passed China’s 10,000-hour durability verification, becoming the first domestic metal bipolar plate stack to do so.

The company also unveiled its T1 new-energy commercial vehicle platform for hydrogen and other commercial applications.

Dongfeng says its 49-ton hydrogen truck platform is built for long-haul freight with lower hydrogen use, fast refueling, and extended range.

The milestone points to improving durability and practicality for heavy-duty hydrogen trucking in China, supporting broader commercial adoption.
