Intel joins Elon Musk's semiconductor manufacturing plan 'Terafab'

Intel announced on X that it is joining Elon Musk's Terafab semiconductor project.

Terafab, announced in March and led by Musk, aims to build the largest chip fab and includes SpaceX, xAI and Tesla.

The project plans an Austin, Texas fab for logic, memory and advanced packaging, aiming for early commercialization.

Intel said it will use its design, manufacturing and packaging capabilities to support Terafab's 1 TW/year compute goal.
