Foldables are sort of boring now — and that’s great news for Apple

Foldable phones have moved beyond many of their early durability and design problems, becoming a more mature category.

Creases are flatter, batteries are better, prices are lower in some models, and features like IP68 are spreading.

Samsung, Huawei, Google, Honor, Oppo, Vivo, and others are pushing thinner designs and new formats, including tri-folds.

With the market more standardized and less risky, Apple would face fewer technical and reputational hurdles if it launches a foldable iPhone.
