Google Home’s latest updates include Gemini in Spanish, improved smart home controls

Gemini for Home now works with supervised Google Accounts and can assist kids on those accounts.

Spanish support for Gemini for Home is available in Mexico, the US, and Canada; users in Mexico are being welcomed.

Smart-home controls improved: Gemini better understands devices, responds faster, and more reliably distinguishes lamp vs. light.

Controls are more natural: exact color names aren’t required, Expressive Lighting accepts non-exact color descriptions, and you can set humidity, preheat ovens, hold temperature presets, and clear active modes by voice.

Requires Google Home v4.12; Gemini Live news summaries are deeper and more interactive; Google Home app on Android adds edge-to-edge and predictive back.
