Keychron Announces ‘ZGM,’ Its First Open-Source Firmware for Gaming Mice, with Full Release Set for 2027

Keychron has announced ZGM, an open-source firmware for gaming mice.

Built on Zephyr RTOS, ZGM aims to deliver low-latency input handling plus customization for buttons, sensors, and lighting.

It supports both USB and wireless use, with a modular driver architecture.

The project will be released under GPL-3.0, and the first product to ship it is the wireless gaming mouse G6 HE.

A full public release is planned for Q1 2027, signaling a more open model for gaming mouse firmware.
