OpenAI Is Offering ChatGPT Plus to Citizens of Malta for a Year

OpenAI announced its first nationwide country partnership with Malta.

All Maltese residents and citizens can get one year of ChatGPT Plus after completing a University of Malta AI basics course and verifying eligibility with an EU eID account.

Malta’s digital authority will manage the rollout, making the deal a government-led push to expand AI access and literacy.

OpenAI also said its planned UK Stargate data center is on hold because of energy and regulatory hurdles.
