InMusic Will Acquire Native Instruments, Putting It Under The Same Umbrella As Akai

inMusic has announced it will acquire Native Instruments, bringing NI into the same corporate group as Akai, Moog, M-Audio, Denon and Numark.

The deal also folds brands like Plugin Alliance, iZotope and Brainworx into inMusic’s portfolio, while operations are expected to continue through the transition.

The acquisition ends uncertainty around Native Instruments and consolidates major rivals and product lines under one owner.

That could reshape competition across music software, MIDI controllers and standalone hardware such as Komplete 26, Maschine+ and MPC XL.
