Anthropic said in a blog post that the Claude Mythos Preview identified thousands of high-severity vulnerabilities.

Some of those flaws exist in every major operating system and every major web browser.

Anthropic gave an example where the model wrote a browser exploit chaining four vulnerabilities into a JIT heap-spray that escaped renderer and OS sandboxes.

Anthropic launched Project Glasswing, extended Mythos access to 40+ additional organizations, and is coordinating with AWS, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorganChase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, Nvidia, and Palo Alto Networks to patch issues.

Anthropic is working with the U.S. government on offensive and defensive implications; current Claude versions can find many vulnerabilities but struggle to turn them into active exploits.
