Joe Manganiello announces new official D&D dark fantasy setting, and it's metal as hell

Joe Manganiello unveiled Death Saves, a new grimdark Dungeons & Dragons setting developed with Mike Mearls.

The project is being framed as part of an official Black Label line from Wizards of the Coast.

Its first live-play debut is scheduled for GenCon, giving fans an early look at the setting.

The reveal suggests a possible expansion of D&D into darker-toned official products.
