Introducing Stargate UK

OpenAI is launching Stargate UK with NVIDIA and Nscale to expand Britain’s AI compute capacity.

The initial plan targets up to 8,000 GPUs in 2026, with the potential to scale to 31,000 GPUs over time.

The project is designed to support sovereign, UK-based AI deployment for sensitive and regulated use cases.

OpenAI will also bring OpenAI Academy to the UK to help train workers and boost AI skills.

The initiative deepens the UK-US tech partnership and could accelerate AI adoption and competitiveness across the UK.
