MIIT: By 2030, the annual comprehensive utilization of waste power batteries from new energy vehicles will reach over 1 million tons - IT之家

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released the 15th Five-Year Plan for industrial green and low-carbon development.

The plan aims to accelerate industrial green transformation and upgrade technologies in key sectors such as new energy.

It sets higher 2030 targets for resource utilization of used EV batteries, waste solar panels, and waste wind turbine blades.

Notably, annual comprehensive utilization of retired EV power batteries is expected to exceed 1 million tons.

The policy is meant to advance industrial decarbonization, circular economy development, and recycling capacity across clean-energy supply chains.
