KDDI and TIER IV collaborate to promote the spread of autonomous driving services

KDDI and Tier IV signed an agreement to jointly promote the rollout of autonomous driving services.

From July 1, the partnership expands to a three-company setup with KDDI Smart Mobility.

The group will support end-to-end deployment, including systems, connectivity, vehicle procurement, remote monitoring, and operations management.

The initiative aims to accelerate commercial adoption in regional transport and help ease driver shortages and service gaps.

The companies are targeting cumulative deployment of about 1,000 autonomous vehicles by 2030.
