NASA Begins Phase 1 of Building Its Moon Base. Here's The Full Plan.

NASA launched phase one of its moon base plan, awarding hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts to four U.S. companies.

The hardware will include landers, rovers, and drones designed to support operations near the Moon’s south pole.

The equipment is expected to arrive before astronauts land, potentially as early as 2028.

The effort is meant to build long-term lunar infrastructure and serve as a testbed for future Mars missions.
