Microsoft begins early access to 'Copilot Cowork' to automate tasks

Microsoft has begun early access for Copilot Cowork for Frontier customers.

Copilot Cowork embeds Anthropic's Claude Cowork into Microsoft 365 Copilot, allowing Claude to act autonomously and automate file operations when given folder access.

Users can delegate work to the PC: Copilot Cowork creates plans, analyzes tools and files, visualizes progress, and lets users adjust direction as needed.

Built-in features like calendar and daily briefings let Copilot Cowork handle one-off tasks and recurring workflows; Capital Group's early deployment automated many daily workflows.

Microsoft also announced Researcher updates: it builds source-cited reports from multiple sources, adds a Critique feature that separates generation and review using multiple models (including Anthropic and OpenAI), and a Model Council to compare model outputs.
