Amazon EKS Auto Mode wants to end Kubernetes toil — one node at a time

AWS says Amazon EKS Auto Mode is designed to cut Kubernetes toil by taking over routine cluster and node management tasks.

AWS product manager Alex Kestner said it can handle instance selection, security, updates, and node lifecycle work for platform teams.

The goal is to reduce day-to-day operational burden in production clusters so teams can focus more on application delivery.

EC2 Managed Instances help support the automation, with the broader aim of improving consistency, security, and cost control.
