Google is redefining the cursor for computers, and its AI-charged future looks ridiculous

Google introduced Magic Pointer for Googlebook laptops, a Gemini-powered cursor that acts on selected on-screen content.

It can read parts of webpages, images, documents, tables, and video frames to compare, summarize, identify, or transform information.

The feature reduces the need to open a separate chatbot and instead brings AI help directly into point-and-click workflows.

Google says this could make AI assistance feel more natural and built into everyday laptop use.
