ChatGPT now wants access to your bank account so it can tell you to stop ordering takeout

OpenAI launched a preview of ChatGPT’s personal finance feature for U.S. Pro users on web and iOS.

Users can connect bank accounts through Plaid so ChatGPT can analyze balances, transactions, investments, liabilities, and spending patterns.

The connection is read-only: ChatGPT cannot move money, and synced data is deleted within 30 days.

OpenAI says it will refine the feature based on feedback and later add Intuit integration.
