Google, Microsoft, and xAI will allow the US government to review their new AI models

Google DeepMind, Microsoft, and xAI agreed to support pre-release reviews of new AI models by the U.S. Commerce Department’s AI center.

The Center for AI Standards and Innovation said it has already completed dozens of reviews and could take on a broader role under the Trump administration.

The move expands federal oversight of frontier AI systems before deployment, underscoring safety and national security concerns.
