Instagram's AI Chatbot Gave Away a Bunch of Accounts to Hackers

Hackers reportedly abused Meta’s AI customer support to change account emails and trigger password resets.

That let them intercept reset codes and take over Instagram accounts without needing the original password or email.

The attack affected several accounts, including a White House account, Sephora, and other users, mainly where multifactor authentication was not enabled.

Meta says the issue has been fixed and impacted accounts are being secured.
