FF14 Mobile is officially dead, will shut down in September

Final Fantasy 14 Mobile will shut down on Sept. 30, 2026 after Square Enix and Lightspeed Studios ended their licensing agreement.

The China service, which launched in June 2025, will be taken offline as part of the closure.

The planned global release has also been canceled, ending hopes for a wider rollout.

The shutdown closes a closely watched mobile adaptation of Final Fantasy 14 that had attracted attention for its quality-of-life features.
