OpenAI, not yet public, raises $3B from retail investors in monster $122B fund raise

OpenAI closed a $122 billion funding round at an $852 billion valuation ahead of an expected IPO this year.

About $3 billion of the round came from individual investors via bank channels and major firms co-led the deal.

The company reported $2 billion monthly revenue, 900 million weekly active users, an ads pilot generating over $100 million annualized, and expanded a $4.7 billion credit facility.
