WhatsApp is testing a new folder for messages from large businesses

Meta is testing a WhatsApp feature that automatically sends messages from large businesses to an “Offers & Updates” folder.

Messages from banks and airlines can be delayed by up to 24 hours before moving into the separate folder, and users can turn the feature off.

The test is limited to selected WhatsApp Business Platform partners, while small businesses and individual business accounts are excluded.

The change could reduce inbox clutter and make chat more manageable, while signaling a broader push toward business messaging and AI-driven engagement.
