A new Xbox controller is coming and it’s not what you’d expect

A leak suggests Microsoft is developing a compact new Xbox controller aimed at Xbox Cloud Gaming.

The gamepad reportedly keeps standard Xbox controls and adds Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi 6, USB‑C, and a rechargeable battery.

It is also said to use a Realtek RTL8730E chip, but no launch date has been confirmed.

The leak points to Microsoft leaning more heavily into cloud-first Xbox accessories with lower-latency connectivity.
