Scientists Uncover the Surprising Source of Strange Clouds Near the Milky Way’s Supermassive Black Hole

Infrared spectroscopy and simulations suggest three compact gas clouds near Sagittarius A* share a common origin.

The likely source is a massive binary star system near the Milky Way’s center, rather than unrelated clumps.

This provides a plausible explanation for G1, G2, and G2t and may help explain how the black hole is fed.
