Google Announces the “Gemini 3.5” Series, Starting with the Lightweight “Gemini 3.5 Flash”

Google unveiled Gemini 3.5 at I/O 2026 and launched Gemini 3.5 Flash first, positioning it as a fast new model family for agentic AI.

The company says Flash matches or beats earlier flagship models on coding, reasoning, and multimodal benchmarks while powering Gemini Spark and new Search features.

Google is also emphasizing stronger safety controls through its Frontier Safety Framework, with Gemini 3.5 Pro slated for June 2026.

The rollout extends across consumer and enterprise tools, including Gemini apps, Google AI Studio, Android Studio, and Gemini Enterprise.
