Compatibalizers Can Make Recycling Plastic Water Bottles Easy

Researchers in France and Canada found that compatibilizers can improve recycling of mixed plastic water bottles made from PET and HDPE.

The treated blends showed better mechanical properties and could be processed directly into 3D-printed products.

The approach may let recyclers keep bottle caps on, lowering sorting costs and improving plastic recovery rates.
