‘Largest-ever’ 165-ton spent nuclear fuel flask to be carried by modified diesel ship

Pacific Grebe completed technical upgrades and full-scale fit checks in the UK and France.

The ship is now cleared to carry Orano’s 150-ton TN Eagle flask for spent MOX fuel.

This marks a first for the PNTL fleet and expands its specialized nuclear transport capacity.

PNTL plans similar modifications for Pacific Egret and has additional flask orders underway.
