Space strategy game Sins of a Solar Empire 2 drops its gen-AI artwork amid a huge new UI overhaul

Stardock has released Sins of a Solar Empire 2 update 1.6, “UI Horizons,” a major overhaul of menus and lobbies.

The patch restores the in-game map editor and adds defensive, balance, AI, and performance improvements, plus smaller save files.

It also replaces previously used AI-generated portraits with fully human-drawn artwork, addressing player backlash over generative AI use.
