AMD Prepares Linux Driver Support for RDNA 5 GPUs With New DCN6 Display Engine Patches

AMD has begun Linux kernel work for its next-generation RDNA 5 GPUs.

New AMDGPU patches add the initial framework for Display Core Next 6 (DCN6).

The code ties DCN6 to the GFX13 graphics architecture, but includes no product names or feature details yet.

It’s an early sign that AMD is preparing open-source Linux driver support ahead of hardware-specific additions.
