Insta360 partnered with Splatica to turn ordinary 360-degree video into explorable 3D environments using Gaussian splatting.

Users can record with consumer cameras or drones, upload the footage, and view or share the result in a browser.

The workflow is simple and can produce downloadable scans with measurements, though the reconstructions are still imperfect.

The partnership could make 3D scene capture more accessible for real estate, construction, inspections, and creator tools.
