Oops They Did It Again – A Third State Allows Plug-And-Play Solar

Virginia has become the third U.S. state to allow residential plug-and-play solar systems, following Utah and Maine.

The new law permits systems up to 1.2 kW on residential structures if they meet code, zoning, and safety rules.

These units must not export power to the grid, keeping them limited to on-site use.

The change could make low-cost solar more accessible for renters and homeowners with roofs that are unsuitable for traditional installations.
