Google is experimenting with a Chrome feature that swaps webpage images on the fly

Google is reportedly testing a Chrome feature codenamed Indigo that can replace webpage images with AI-generated versions or remove them entirely.

The feature would alter only what users see on the page, without changing the underlying site.

It is still in development and has not been released.

The idea points to a more personalized reading mode in Chrome, while also raising questions about visual trust and usefulness.
