iOS 26.4 Brings New Emoji, a Playlist Generator and More to Your iPhone

Apple released iOS 26.4 on Tuesday, March 24, about a week after the iOS 26.3.1 Background Security Improvement update.

The update adds eight new emoji (for example: Orca, Landslide, Trombone, Fight, Cloud, Distorted face, Ballet dancers, Hairy creature/Sasquatch), video podcasts, and more than two dozen bug fixes and security patches.

To install: open Settings > General > Software Update and tap Update Now.

Video podcasts are available in Apple Podcasts; tap the video player icon on an episode and use the Turn Video On/Turn Video Off controls in the media player to show or hide video.

Playlist Playground (an Apple Music feature) can generate a playlist from your description (title, tracklist, general description); Reduce Bright Effects (Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size) minimizes Liquid Glass effects.
