Artemis II’s Breathtaking View of the Far Side of the Moon

NASA has released the first Artemis II photos from a close lunar flyby.

The images show the Moon’s far side, the South Pole-Aitken basin, and Earth in the background.

The crew used the pass to make scientific observations as Orion continued its return to Earth.

The data should improve lunar maps and help identify promising resource-rich regions near the south pole.
