iPhone 18 Pro's Camera Upgrade Will Cost Apple 50% More

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to adopt a new variable-aperture main camera lens.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says the component’s average selling price is about 50% higher than the current iPhone 17 Pro camera unit.

The upgrade could improve exposure control and depth-of-field flexibility, but it will raise Apple’s hardware costs.

Sunny Optical is expected to supply part of Apple’s camera orders, potentially strengthening its role in future Apple products.
