Google Gemini is testing a potentially controversial design revision

An APK teardown of Gemini app version 17.12.51 by Android Authority revealed code that could let Gemini adopt colors from a device's theme or wallpaper.

Android Authority manually enabled the feature in the APK and saw the color-matched design appear in the Gemini overlay, not the full app.

The change is not live in the distributed app and features found in APK teardowns may not be released to users.

Gemini has recently received other updates, including improved news summaries and data import tools.
