Subnautica 2 Xbox players could eventually test new features early like Steam players

Unknown Worlds is exploring whether Subnautica 2 on Xbox can support separate preview branches for testing new features before public release.

That setup would bring a Steam-like experimental testing workflow to Xbox Game Preview, where players could try updates earlier and give feedback.

The studio says launch updates will still roll out to Xbox, Steam, and Epic at the same time because Subnautica 2 relies on cross-play.

The game is expected to remain in early access for at least two years.
