Space data centers sound like a pipe dream. What if we put them on lamp posts?

Conflow Power Group has signed an agreement with Katsina State to deploy 50,000 solar-powered iLamp units across the region.

Each lamp post combines a low-power Nvidia chip, battery storage, and solar power to support distributed compute, traffic monitoring, and connectivity services.

The project could host lighter AI workloads without grid power, offering a lower-cost alternative to traditional data centers.

It also aims to add public infrastructure benefits such as traffic enforcement support and public WiFi, though scale and rollout remain open questions.
