Nvidia offers restricted access to Vera CPU in first round of Linux benchmarks - 88-core monster competes with or beats Epyc and Xeon in selected tests

Phoronix tested Nvidia’s upcoming 88-core Vera server CPU at Nvidia HQ in a limited set of Linux benchmarks.

Vera matched or beat AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon in several tests, with especially strong per-core results in compilation, database, and JVM workloads.

The results look promising for Nvidia’s custom data-center CPU, but the benchmark set was curated and is far from a full performance or efficiency picture.
