Samsung overtakes Micron to take the lead in the automotive memory market

Samsung overtook Micron to become the top supplier in the automotive memory market in fiscal 2025.

According to an S&P Global Mobility report dated May 31, 2026, Samsung's share rose from 35% to 40%, while Micron's fell from 40% to 36%.

The shift reflects Samsung's expansion in auto markets, including China, and growing demand for high-capacity memory for autonomous driving and advanced in-car infotainment.

The change signals a broader reshaping of semiconductor leadership as vehicles become more software- and memory-intensive.
