High-octane FPS Deadzone Rogue responds to sudden sequel controversy: "DLC limits how much we can experiment"

Prophecy Games clarified that Deadzone Rogue 2 is not launching soon as a full game, but a free Steam demo will arrive shortly.

The studio said it chose a sequel over paid DLC because DLC would limit experimentation, major changes, and new systems.

A sequel also avoids splitting the co-op player base, which the team sees as a risk with separate DLC content.

Deadzone Rogue 2 is intended to build on player feedback with new mechanics, characters, missions, and progression systems.
