US seeks use of Dark Eagle hypersonic missile with 1,725-mile range against Iran: Report

The U.S. is weighing deployment of the Dark Eagle hypersonic missile for a longer-range strike option against Iran.

Bloomberg says U.S. Central Command requested the system because Iranian missile launchers have moved beyond the reach of current Precision Strike Missiles.

Dark Eagle is not yet formally in service, but its roughly 1,725-mile range could enable deeper strikes inside Iran.

If approved, it would mark the first operational U.S. use of a hypersonic weapon and could raise escalation risks amid fragile ceasefire and nuclear talks.
