China’s new crab-walking mining truck comes with world-first drive-by-wire corner modules

China unveiled the Shuanglin K7, a 110-ton autonomous mining truck co-developed by Shuanglin Group and Tsinghua University.

The truck can crab-walk, pivot in place, and use independent wheel modules to navigate tight mine terrain more safely.

It also supports high payloads, fast battery swapping, and regenerative braking for more efficient open-pit hauling.

The K7 fits China’s push toward fully automated, electrified mines, especially in challenging sites like Inner Mongolia and the Gobi Desert.
