Cognition’s Scott Wu says AI coding agents shouldn’t replace humans

Cognition CEO Scott Wu said AI coding agent Devin is not meant to replace programmers.

He described Devin as a teammate that can handle maintenance and other routine work while humans decide what gets built.

Wu said Cognition uses Devin extensively in its own engineering, but sees it as augmentation, not replacement.

The remarks challenge the idea that coding agents will eliminate software engineers.
