China penalizes AI platforms over failure to label AI-generated content

China’s internet regulator penalized several AI apps for failing to clearly label AI-generated or synthesized content.

The Cyberspace Administration of China said CapCut, Maoxiang, and Dreamina AI did not meet content-labeling requirements.

Local regulators were told to issue warnings, require fixes, and pursue accountability measures.
