SpaceX wins over $4 billion contract from the U.S. Space Force to build satellites that track foreign aircraft and missiles in President Trump’s “Golden Dome” plan

The U.S. Space Force awarded SpaceX a $4.16 billion contract to speed up deployment of satellites for SB-AMTI, a system designed to detect and track airborne threats from space.

The deal supports a space-based surveillance network that can monitor aircraft and missiles, strengthening the Pentagon’s next-generation defense architecture.

It is also seen as tied to the Trump administration’s proposed “Golden Dome” missile defense concept.

The contract further highlights how private companies like SpaceX are becoming central to U.S. national security infrastructure.
