CES owner warns FCC router ban could leave millions of devices vulnerable

CTA is urging the FCC to revise or extend its temporary waiver for already authorized foreign-made routers.

The group says blocking security and compatibility updates would leave millions of in-use devices more vulnerable, even as new foreign router approvals are restricted.

If updates stop, unsupported routers could become easier targets for hackers, raising consumer and network security risks.
