Italian Authorities Shut Down Major Streaming Piracy Network

Italian authorities dismantled Cinemagoal, a major piracy network that illegally rebroadcast content from Netflix, Disney+ and other services.

Police carried out more than 100 searches and seizures, taking servers, source code and decryption data used to run the operation.

The app reportedly used cryptocurrency payments and other evasion tactics to avoid detection.

Authorities are also preparing fines for subscribers as part of the wider crackdown on streaming piracy.
